I got my PS2 just couple monts ago. I downloded 'Formula 1 2006' in PAL format from internet as an ISO file and followed the instructions from some of these forums - but is didn't wotk. This is what I did: I patched the 'FORMULA_1_2006_PAL.ISO' with 'ps2_pal2ntsc_yfix.exe' and when it finished, it said 'FILE SUCSESSFULY PATCHED'. Then I opened the DVD Decrypter and took the Formula1_2006.ISO as a SOURCE and as Destination I put my DVD BURNER. When the burning finished and I inserted the burned DVD into the PS2 - It didn't work!!! I don't know why - does anyone of you guys know what I'm missing? As I said earlier, the PS2 is new - do I need to have any Chips installed or anything like that in the PS2 it self or???I'm confused! Get now the Best ROM sites, including RomsMania.com, Loveroms. So this browser is definitely a good fit for me since it automatically blocks all that stuff'. NicoBlog is a website which features downloadable PC games, PS3 ISOS, PS. The download is fast. Please read the stickies at the top of the forum next time. How do I burn PS2 games? Use DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn. Burn at 4x on a quality 8x DVD-R. Does the type of media I use matter? YES: If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Maxell High Grade (DVD+R's). The PS2 laser is picky, these are the only three types of media you should trust for maximum reliability and compatibility with your PS2. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc. CMC Magnetics is garbage. Need proof (Thanks to Alkohol): If you really want to do the PS2 backup thing right, pick up some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim's. I only burn to TYG02, the 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's. So far I've never had a lag, skip, freeze, or boot failure since I switched to Taiyo Yuden's. With results like that, why would I use anything else? The brand of media you use means very little. The key determinant of media quality is the Media ID. For info on the Media ID, check the bottom of this thread. Try this link for all types of different info on media quality, compatibility, and console reliability: DVD Media Quality Review: 3. Do I need some type of mod to play PS2 backups or imports? Yes- You cannot boot PS2 backups without a modification, either a software mod or hardware mod!!! Do not ask about this in the forums!!! You need a modchip: Swap Magic: Memory Card Exploit (Doesn't work with v.11 PS2 and later): HD Loader: or HD Advance. Yes you can use Swap Magic to boot backups or a modchip. A modchip costs more, but is the best all around solution. It will boot backups just like originals, insert and play, no swapping or case mod is required. Swap Magic requires a case mod and a swap to play backups. You can get a quality chip for $115 (installation+chip+shipping). Emc utl laptop drivers for windows 7 32 bit. Swap Magic with a case mod is around $30, but you'll have to rebuild games, swap discs each time, shrink Dual Layer (DVD-9) to single layer (DVD-5). What modchip should I get? Matrix Infinity (Green Dot), DMS 4 Pro SE, or the Crystal Chip 1.1. Read My ModChip FAQ: 7. What do I need to use Swap Magic? With fat PS2 v.1-11: Flip top: Slide Card: With Slim PS2 v.12-14 Flip top: Magickeys (also referred to as slide tool, slim tool or, magic switch): Ghost Switch: Tape and Tissue mod: From Pretense: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button). Pics (Thanks to PSPness): my tape and more tape Just about the same, just a change on Censor 'A' and Censor 'B' Censor B - keep the top closed, while you tape down the disk stopper, using a few layers of duct tape Fur Censor A - use tiny strips of duct tape to patch over the tiny censor. I used a screwdriver to help put on the tape. Here's some additional pictures (Thanks to xhardc0re).
